IN-STUDIO POLICY: NO GUESTS ALLOWED

For all appointments held at Contoured by Katie’s studio, please note that there is a strict no-guest policy. Only individuals who are scheduled to receive makeup services are permitted to attend the appointment. This helps ensure a calm, professional environment and allows Katie to provide each client with her full attention. The only exception to this policy is if the client is a minor and has a parent accompanying them.​ Please also be aware that Katie has a small pug, Winston, who will be present during studio appointments. He is very friendly and loves giving kisses and cuddles! If you have a dog allergy or are uncomfortable around dogs, you must notify Katie in advance so accommodations can be discussed.

INQUIRIES, WAITLISTS & DATE AVAILABILITY

Submitting an inquiry, joining a waitlist, expressing interest in a date, receiving confirmation that a date is currently available, or communicating with Katie about potential services does not hold, reserve, guarantee, or secure a wedding date or appointment. Contoured by Katie may maintain an interest list or waitlist of prospective clients who have expressed interest in a particular date, including clients who contact Katie before a future booking calendar has officially opened. An interest list or waitlist is maintained for organizational and communication purposes only. Placement on a list does not reserve or hold a date, guarantee priority, establish a place in the booking order once bookings open, or provide any contractual right to the requested date.

When a future booking calendar has not yet opened, prospective clients may be asked to submit a new inquiry once bookings officially launch. All prospective clients are responsible for following the booking instructions provided when the applicable calendar opens. Wedding dates and appointments are booked on a first-come, first-served basis through the applicable booking process. If multiple prospective clients are interested in the same date, availability may change at any time while inquiries are being processed. A date is only officially secured once Contoured by Katie has received both the required signed contract and 50% non-refundable retainer within the stated booking window. Until both requirements have been completed, the date remains unreserved and may be offered to another prospective client. No date is held or reserved based solely on an inquiry, interest-list or waitlist placement, prior correspondence, verbal discussion, social media message, email exchange, confirmation of availability, quote, proposal, or stated intention to book.

 

CONTRACTS & DEPOSITS

All bookings require a signed contract and a 50% non-refundable deposit or retainer. Your wedding date or appointment is not reserved or confirmed until both have been received by Contoured by Katie. When a contract and invoice are issued, they must be completed within the booking window specified in your proposal or correspondence. If both requirements are not completed within that timeframe, the date may be released or offered to another prospective client without further notice. All deposits and retainers are 100% non-refundable and non-transferable and cannot be applied to another date, appointment, or future booking unless otherwise expressly stated in your signed contract.

 

APPOINTMENT BOOKINGS

I do not accept "walk-in" appointments. If you wish to book a service, please make sure to schedule it at least 48 hours in advance.

 

CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULING

For special event and in-studio appointments, at least 48 hours' notice is required to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment may result in the loss of any deposit or retainer paid. Clients who cancel within 24 hours of their scheduled appointment or fail to appear may be required to pay the full service amount in advance when booking any future appointment. Any advance payment required under this policy will be non-refundable in the event of a subsequent cancellation. Bridal and wedding cancellations are governed separately by the terms of the client's signed bridal contract.

BRIDAL PREVIEWS

Bridal Previews are exclusively available to brides who have already secured their wedding date with Contoured by Katie and are included as specified within the bride's selected Bridal Collection. Previews are not offered before booking and do not serve as a means of temporarily holding or reserving a wedding date. All Bridal Previews are held exclusively at Katie's private studio in Annapolis, Maryland. Because Katie's brides travel from throughout the region, across the country, and internationally, previews are not offered on-location. The studio provides a consistent, professional environment with Katie's complete professional kit, lighting, and setup available to create a relaxed and focused experience tailored to each bride. The studio's No-Guest Policy applies to all Bridal Previews.

COMPLETED SERVICES & REFUNDS

All makeup services are final once performed. All makeup services are non-refundable. Deposits, retainers, cancellations, rescheduling, and other booking-related payments are governed by the applicable cancellation policy and the terms of the client’s signed contract.

LATE FEES & CANCELLATIONS

Clients are responsible for arriving on time for their scheduled appointment. Arrivals 15 minutes late or more are subject to a $50 late fee for each 15-minute period of lateness. If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, Katie reserves the right to shorten or cancel the appointment if there is no longer sufficient time to complete the service without affecting other scheduled clients or commitments. If the appointment cannot be completed due to late arrival, payments already made will remain subject to the applicable cancellation and refund policies. Clients who fail to attend an appointment without providing notice will be considered a “No Call/No Show” and may be prohibited from booking future appointments.

 

ARRIVAL PREPARATION

Please arrive approximately 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment with a clean, makeup-free face. Clients are encouraged to wear a low-cut, button-down, or easily removable top to help prevent makeup from coming into contact with clothing when changing. Please allow adequate travel time for traffic, parking, weather, and other potential delays. Clients remain responsible for arriving on time regardless of travel or parking conditions.

 

ALLERGY & PRODUCT DISCLOSURE

Clients are responsible for disclosing any known allergies, skin sensitivities, reactions to cosmetic products or ingredients, or other information that may be relevant to the safe performance of makeup services. Required intake forms must be completed accurately before services begin. If an allergy or sensitivity is disclosed at the appointment that was not previously communicated and Katie is unable to reasonably review product ingredients or determine whether services can be performed safely within the scheduled appointment time, Katie reserves the right to modify or decline the service. Please also notify Katie in advance if you have a dog allergy or are uncomfortable around dogs, as Winston, Katie's pug, may be present in the studio.

 

PERSONAL MAKEUP PRODUCTS

For sanitation, product-performance, and professional-liability purposes, Katie generally works exclusively with products and tools from her professional kit. If you would like Katie to use a personal cosmetic product during your appointment, this must be discussed and approved in advance. Personal products may be declined at Katie's discretion. This policy does not apply to Self-Makeup Lessons, during which clients may be instructed to bring or use products from their own collection.

PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO & CONTENT CREATION

Documenting Katie’s work is an important part of Contoured by Katie’s business, professional portfolio, and social media presence. Katie may photograph and/or film portions of appointments and wedding-day services, including before-and-after results, makeup application, behind-the-scenes footage, setup and breakdown, and other aspects of the client experience. Content may be used on Contoured by Katie’s website, social media platforms, professional portfolio, advertising, and other marketing materials.

 

Special Event, Studio & Individual Appointments:
Photography and/or video consent is a condition of booking individual makeup services with Contoured by Katie. By booking an individual appointment, clients acknowledge and agree that photos and/or short videos may be captured during their appointment and used for professional portfolio, social media, website, advertising, and other promotional purposes. If you are not comfortable being photographed or filmed for these purposes, please do not book an individual appointment.

 

Weddings & Bridal Parties:
For wedding-day services, the bride acknowledges that Katie may document her work and the overall wedding-day experience. Because bridal parties include individuals who are not the contracting client, any member of the bridal party who is uncomfortable being photographed or filmed must notify Katie before services begin. Katie will make reasonable efforts to avoid intentionally photographing or filming that individual. Please understand that Katie may still document other consenting members of the bridal party, her professional setup, products, workspace, and other aspects of the wedding-day experience. A bridal party member's preference not to appear in content does not prevent Katie from documenting other portions of the wedding day. All photography and filming will be conducted professionally and will not intentionally interfere with scheduled makeup services or the wedding-day timeline. Content selected for publication will be consistent with the professional image and standards of Contoured by Katie.​

USE OF PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS

Katie's professional makeup products, tools, and supplies are reserved exclusively for clients who have booked makeup services and completed the required intake documentation. Products and tools cannot be loaned to or used by bridal party members, guests, or other individuals who are not receiving a booked service. This policy supports proper sanitation, product control, and client safety and applies even if the individual only wishes to borrow a product for a quick touch-up. Clients receiving services will be provided with applicable touch-up products or kits as included with their booked service or bridal collection.

POLICY ACKNOWLEDGMENT

Clients are responsible for reviewing all applicable policies before submitting an inquiry or booking services with Contoured by Katie. By submitting an inquiry, clients acknowledge that they have had access to the policies governing inquiries and date availability. By signing a contract and submitting the required retainer or deposit, clients agree to the terms of their signed agreement and all applicable booking policies incorporated into that agreement.

In the event of a conflict between general website information and the terms of a client's signed contract, the signed contract will govern that client's booking.
